The annual Consumer Electronics Show kicks off this week in Las Vegas. This is the gadget wonderland I've attended for the last several years. Hello everyone,

Can anyone look into this and suggest me ??

My Wife is planning to go for COS H1B to L2(i am on L1) due to the Job market.As suggested by a person in the forum i am planning to file COS E-filing from H1B to L2 and EAD while in USA.

So My Query is

1) Do we need to wait for L2 to be approved before she can leave the country ?? Or just we file L2 and EAD and she leaving country and come back on L2 with stamp once it is approved(i would like to send L2 Approval by Post)
2) What is the process of L2 Stamping in India after recieving approval notice (what are the documents needed) and how long does it take
3)Will above process effect her EAD progress ??

I am currently on H1B status with 3 yrs left on my visa. I've used 3 yrs already.

I'm not a project at the moment and if I convert to H4 now, can I continue on the same H1 after a couple of yrs.

Considering many limitations to move a job from non-profit to for-profit, I am considering moving my job to another non profit. With my current employer, my 6 year H-1 B will expire by the end of next year April. So if my change my employer, I will have a very short time to start the process again till I reach I -140 approval again with the new employer.

I heard that from non-profit to for-profit, you are subject to the quota and you have to apply for H-1B quota. But in this case, your previous 6 year with non profit doesn't count.

But if I move from non-profit to non-profit, do I have to reach I-140 approval before my current H-1 B with my current employer expires? Or do I just get another 3 year with new non-profit employer?

If I have to get I-140 approval with new non-profit employer before my current 6 year H-1 B expires, is it doable?

Hi

My wife H1B was approved under Consular Processing. She got job offer now and it is a Consulting job to Hire. We applied COS at CSC by Premium processing. Reached application on Sep 28 and Status is Acceptance by then.

1 ) Everything is genuine and in the client letter it is mentioned as 6 Months contract to hire. Are there any posibbilities of getting H1B approved for only 6 months from now.

2 ) Are there any chances of rejection

3) Sincle past week it is under "Acceptance" stage. I know i have to be patient.

4) Can we expect some decision from them this week as client is waiting.

5) At what time CSC updates the case. Is there any particular time they update the case online.

I am July 2nd filer and got EAD approved.

My 485 notice has Received Date as July 19th 2007 and Notice Date as October 17th 2007.

Do i need to calculate 180 days from July 19th 2007 OR Oct 17th 2007 if i want to change the jobs?

My H1B was refused under section 221(g) (petitioner is not able or willing to provide employment....) and case has reached USCIS for review. The lawyers however are asking me to travel on H4 and then convert to H1 in US and they say this can be done in 2 weeks. I am so very skeptical about this! How is this even possible?
Their response is that i have an H1B from earlier quota, so i can get a new petition filed and start working on it once its approved.How come people dont do this if its valid?
My questions if anybody can help me are
1) Can i go on H4 visa without revoking my H1B petition which is under review with USCIS? Or will consulate ask me to revoke my H1B petition?
2) If i go on H4, can i really get a COS to H1 in US i.e. not the April 2011 quota but in the already assigned quota and i can start working within a few days of approval?

My wife did not have SSN when her FP was done. I would not suggest writing ITIN either.
But must write the A# from FP notice onto the form.

But I believe my wife used her ITIN# in place of SSN in some other GC related forms , Is this going to be an Issue??
