My PD is Dec. 04, and my I-485 was filed during the july fiasco in 2007. My PD was current since March 08 until it will become "unavailable" in June 08.
My attorney got update from Nebraska SC in May stating "Your case is in queue for green card." Now what will happen to my case since EB-3 ROW will be unavailable in June? Does that mean an IO once opened my file after March and will close it without processing any further because of the change in the June Visa Bulletin?
I am confused. Please share your insights and experiences.
Thank you.

I think I am missing something.. Can anybody explain what they did today.. I am still trying to find out difference .
Thanks.
What the USCIS has done today is what they call "Locking the stables AFTER the horse has bolted" ;)
What a bunch of idiots, i swear this is WORSE than ANY of our home countries. Like I told my friend yesterday, atleast if the USCIS call center was based in India, the answers would have been consistent. They may have all been Wrong, but atleast they would be consistent.
Thanks.

Mr. Ron Gotcher believes that it means "Mexico F2A and [Mexico] employment third preference cut off dates. Had they meant Worldwide, they would have said so explicitly".
Relax guys.:)
Mexico EB3 has been Unavailable since last 2 months so why USCIS will make a special comment about that country.
I am sure DOS is referring to entire EB3 Category in their Sep'08 Visa Bulletin. No hopes for EB3-I if PD goes back to Apr'2001 again.

Came to USA in March 2000. First company never filed for GC in 2000 and 2001 year. Lost job in 2001. Got consulting work in another state. Later joined 3rd company in 2002.
1st EB3 Labor - Filed on Feb - 2004 in 3rd company in USA
(Labor Gone to backlog and lost job before it sees any light)
2nd EB2 Labor - Nov - 2006 - in 4th company in USA.
(Applied I-140 on Jan -2007- Got denied on May-2009 after two RFE's.)
(Appealed I-140 on June - 2009...still waiting for their response)
RFE was about my 3+3 (Diploma + Engg degree) for Eb2 case.
(Applied for 485 for me and my wife during July Fiasco)
Never used EAD anytime.
(I am going to bear all cost of GC process)
3rd Eb3 Labor - Jan 2010
(Applied I-140 Aug 2010 - Got approved)
Waiting for date to be current for I-485..waiting for another July(any month) fiasco
(Again I am going bear all cost of GC process)..some Green dream hmmm
During all these time I am on H1B. Changed 4 companies and 3 states in USA.

No good news for me. I am EB3-I.
By the way, if the PD is current for those who have already applied for I-485, does it mean they are guaranteed to get their GCs processed? What if EB2-I becomes U in September? Just wanted to know the importance of a PD becoming current for folks who have already applied for 485.
Thanks

I really think we are all split between EB2 and EB3. EB2 folks don't give a damn about EB3 dates.

If they are rolling a dice.. it sure reads 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then 900 dots on the last face.
This bulletin rulz for giving a lot of people here (including me) false hopes.
I do not get it either. They seem to have this very complex formula to determine where to move the cutoff dates or they simply roll a dice. Is there no transperancy. Sometimes I figure I should just not be bothered. It is black box!!. But I can really not do that!. Atleast we are participating actively in the call campaigns. But is that all we can do?

Can we collectively find alternatives to move to other countries or going back home. I really don't think anything is going to happen for EB-I
we should collectively aim our approach to get SSA back and use up other benifits

My Loan is not Jumbo loan, its under 400K
I don't have 20% down. But I was speaking to the Loan officer, he was telling, it doesn't matter if you put more down or not, 3yr forward continuous visa is req. I never heard this earlier.
Jumbo loans are not getting approved for EAD status. Banks are rejecting Jumbo loans (> 417K) if your immigration status is EAD or AOS. I don't have any idea about normal loans (< 417K). But banks are giving Jumbo loans if the status is H-1B.
But noone is rejecting loan, if your down payment is 20% of the value of the home.

Not everybody on this forum earns 144,000 a year. What world are you living in my friend? Do you not get out that often?
Absulutely agree. Also $144,000 in some areas translate to $90,000 in some other areas depending on cost of living, taxation etc... Not all spouses work. So for them, every bit of Government stimulus is needed.

Hi,
I talked to my lawyer and she didn't mention about any kind of delay so can you please give me some more details about this PIM and how does it affect the whole process and slow things down.
Thanks a lot in advanced
scorion PIM process is a new additional step that is now part of visa stamping process. if you read around here you will find out more about it but in short uscis office in kentucy has to scan and upload all your supporting documents i.e employement letter etc that you might have used to get an H1 approval. The embassy you will visit for visa stamping has to review all the uploaded doc's before stamping your visa. Now I read in one of the thread here that someone in chennai has been stuck for over 3 to 4 weeks after their visa intvw just because the PIM process is not done. Hope this helps. Check out this thread:

Pause and take a moment to rejoice. Then turn all eyes to processing dates.
TSC July 17 2007
NSC July 28 2007
That would mean July 2 filers EB2 are waiting only for visa number (assuming USCIS is processing cases strictly on RD basis) - wooooooooooooow.

I got my CA DL after moving from Missouri 4 years ago. they only ask for my out of state DL and SSN card. luckily my SSN card doesnt contain the "valid for work ..." stuff, only my name and ss number. I renewed my DL this year and got 5 years renewal by just showing only my DL to DMV...
Howz DL procedure in CA for 485 guys? I do not have H1B any my I-94 expired long time back. I have out of state licensce that expires in 2011 only. If I want to take CA DL, will it be a easy process? For how many years they give DL for 485 guys?

Latest update from shusterman about bridge legislation for schedule A:
Now, Senator Schumer is seeking to attach the Hutchison-Durbin Amendment to a piece of "must pass" legislation in August. For more information about the immigration of nurses and physical therapists, see "Nurse" page at
http://shusterman.com/toc-rn.html
and "Allied Health Professionals" page at
http://shusterman.com/toc-ahp.html
Hope they will pass it this time....
Questions:
When will be the August recess?
Are there any "must pass" bills, good for such an attachment, scheduled in the senate before the August recess?
