Thank you!! That's true exagerated values. With concurrent filing you can travel in and out of the country, you can work etc. Now we are moaning that the greencard is going to take forever! Wow! Be happy with this situation (file your i-140 & i-485) and stop these pessimistic views!

Please make appropriate changes to the letter stating the we are also the victims of DOL's backlog elimination center and at every stage of this process its taking years to get through. Mail your letter and completed Form 7001 to Ombudsman's office and lets see what they do it about it. Please post any responses you receive from Ombudsman's office.

Please see IV user unitednation's experience while skirting around self-employment / AC21 issues and dealing with "financial viability/ tax returns" type interview questions. He finally succeeded in getting his GC, which still gives me reason to believe that it's possible to be independent after EAD (if you can navigate the loopholes):

dear members,
please post ideas on how we can all collectively address such issues. We have to spread awareness, get attention from law makers, remove the fear instilled into minds of people, guide people in the right direction.
Ideas and suggestions are welcome.
I would say we should start with local congressional office. Every case whether it is resolved or not should be taken to the attention of local congressional office.
If members volunteer to do this, we could distribute districts among ourselves and take care of each district's congressional office. In that way we could raise the awareness among the lawmakers. I do agree that not every office will be friendly to immigrants like my district's congressional office, but we have to try.

I agree, UAE is great place for tax-free money and paid vacations upto 2 months in some cases. I've a british colleague who worked in UAE for 8 years, he says that there are lots of restrictions.

I talked to my lawyer and she didn't mention about any kind of delay so can you please give me some more details about this PIM and how does it affect the whole process and slow things down.

scorion PIM process is a new additional step that is now part of visa stamping process. if you read around here you will find out more about it but in short uscis office in kentucy has to scan and upload all your supporting documents i.e employement letter etc that you might have used to get an H1 approval. The embassy you will visit for visa stamping has to review all the uploaded doc's before stamping your visa. Now I read in one of the thread here that someone in chennai has been stuck for over 3 to 4 weeks after their visa intvw just because the PIM process is not done. Hope this helps. So I had another set of soft LUDs on my approved 140, 485, approved EAD and approved AP today. This was the 4th LUD on my 485 and the 3rd LUD on the rest of the applications in the past week, and I was losing my mind worrying about receiving a denial or an RFE just before my trip abroad, leaving me with not enough time to respond to the RFE.
So I decided to call Customer Service, and after trying a million options on the voice prompt I finally managed to reach the Nebraska Service Center.
Upon inquiring about the LUDs with no status change, I was told that it was triggered due to the attorney name change and address change. My address that they had on file was also an old one, from 2 years ago. I have since moved, and done the online AR15 thing and received my EAD at the new address, so I'm not sure why/how the system showed the old address. But anyway, the lady on the phone was kind enough to change it to the new address. I didn't bother asking her if they had received the AC21 letter, I wasn't going to take the risk of having to argue with someone on the phone that switching employers is allowed under the AC21 law, etc. I was just happy to find out that the G28N had processed successfully and that I didn't have to expect a denial or RFE at least in the near future.

hi applied for 485/ ead and ap on Aug 1st to NSC. I received Ead cards and finger printing complete. But no RN's for any of the 3 applications and no AP yet :-(. Can't even find out AP file number since lawyer used money order to file.

What the hell on earth is this? Do you know for sure they have ignored it? Do not add masala to the existing crap. Do you understand the consequences of these kind of spiced up stuff? We all would be sulking in the security check for ever, if DHS gets pissed off or gets a congressional hearing and the authorities get lambasted over this. You are seeing how doctors are being implicated in UK and all over. Security is the most important thing right now on this planet and western world is agog over security. I dont know from where Greg Siskind and Jay Solomon got the tip off. They tipped each of their hats off and put the story in our brains to run the show. Security is not a Joke. Do not make it a bigger issue unless you dont know whether it really has happened. The consequences can be pretty dangerous to the extent of revoking all the issued GC's in the past 20 days, if congress gets high on this. I dont know what lawyers want, but my understanding is none of us want to have negative consequences of this issue.
No matter who screwed up, we should be conveying the following message after we say that USCIS/DOS goofed up.
"The root cause of the situation is the inability of
a) DOS/USCIS to recapture the visa numbers from previous years
b) to carry forward the unused numbers for atleast one year
If congress makes the needed legislative changes to solve the above two issues, USCIS/DOS will not be in the ugliest predicaments like they are in right now"
Its our choice to make USCIS/DOS our enemies or we get compassionate to the situation considering how arcane the current laws are. We agree or not, we have to work with them going forward. Just that they are down and we are on a bashing spree right now doesnt mean that it will be situation for ever.
